Job summary

The University of Florida is seeking Orthopedic Surgery Veterinary Technicians I/II to join the busy Small Animal Surgery service on a full-time basis at Main Campus in Gainesville, FL. The role involves assisting with appointments, surgical nursing, and diagnostic workups under supervision.

Credentialed technicians are preferred and the position offers health insurance and paid leave/holidays. It is a CARE time-limited role with veteran's preference and a closing date of 30 September 2026.

Qualifications

• Veterinary Technician I requires a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience; coursework/training may substitute for experience.
• Veterinary Technician II requires credentialed veterinary technician status.
• Preferred: Credentialed Veterinary Technician.

Responsibilities

• Assist with appointments and small procedures under sedation and anesthesia.
• Perform diagnostic workups including digital radiography and CT; support teaching environment with residents/interns and students.
• Collaborate with boarded veterinary surgeons and nursing staff in a fast-paced service.
