Job summary

College of Southern Nevada seeks a full-time, tenure-track Instructor to teach Veterinary Nursing in the Health-Related Professions Department. The successful candidate will demonstrate an understanding of the mission of a community college and adapt to a flexible schedule across multiple locations, modalities, and times, primarily in person, with potential for online instruction.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree required.
• Must be currently licensed or obtain a license as a veterinarian in the State of Nevada.
• Must have the equivalent of two (2) years full-time professional experience as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in clinical practice or in an academic setting.

Responsibilities

• Advise students as needed.
• Instruct veterinary didactic courses, laboratories and supervise students on clinical rotations as assigned by the Program Director.
• Perform clinical duties as required in the CSN Veterinary Nursing Teaching Clinic.
• Maintain student records (grades, attendance, exams, assignments, competencies).
• Maintain current knowledge of general veterinary medicine procedures and techniques through continuing professional development.
• Participate in AVMA-CVTEA accreditation activities to support accreditation of the Veterinary Nursing program at CSN.
• Participate in program, department, school, and college-wide committees.
• Assignments may be multi-campus with day, evening, and/or weekend classes.
• Additional duties include academic advising, curriculum development, and service to the institution and community.
