Ethos Veterinary Health presents a full-time oncology opportunity in Richmond, VA, specializing in veterinary cancer care. You will join Virginia Veterinary Centers - Short Pump within a collaborative, multi-specialty hospital that supports advanced medicine and a strong team culture.

You’ll oversee chemotherapy, mentor staff, and coordinate with Internal Medicine, Radiation Oncology, Surgery, and Critical Care.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
• Board Certification in Medical Oncology or residency training in Medical Oncology.
• Strong communication skills with a client-centered approach.
• Collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

• Manage oncology cases in collaboration with Internal Medicine, Radiation Oncology, Surgery, and Critical Care.
• Oversee chemotherapy protocols and ensure USP 800 safety compliance.
• Support daily client communication, treatment updates, and triage questions.
• Mentor chemo-trained technicians, assistants, and support staff.
• Pursue professional growth opportunities such as ultrasound or ECT training.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities for comprehensive oncology care.
• Build relationships with referring veterinarians through clear communication.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture.

At Virginia Veterinary Centers - Short Pump, you'll work alongside experienced specialists and emergency clinicians while managing a diverse oncology caseload with the support of a comprehensive specialty team.

Our specialty team includes Surgery, Neurology, Medical Oncology, Internal Medicine, Dentistry, Ophthalmology, Critical Care, and Emergency Medicine, creating opportunities for close collaboration across disciplines and coordinated care for complex patients.

The hospital is equipped with advanced technology, including a 1.5T MRI, LINAC, CT, C-arm, and CT cone-beam, providing the diagnostic and treatment capabilities needed to support sophisticated oncology care. Our 24/7 Emergency and Critical Care team also provides seamless support for urgent and complex cases.

In Your Day-to-day, You Will

• Manage oncology cases in close collaboration with Internal Medicine, Radiation Oncology, Surgery, and Critical Care.

• Support daily client communication, including treatment updates, medication refills, and question triage.
• Mentor chemo-trained technicians, assistants, and support staff.
• Pursue professional growth opportunities such as ultrasound training, ECT training, or clinical trial coordination.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities to support comprehensive oncology care.
• Build strong relationships with referring veterinarians through clear communication and continuity of care.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.

What You Bring

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
• Board Certification in Medical Oncology or Residency Trained in Medical Oncology.
