Virginia Veterinary Centers – Short Pump in Richmond, VA, seeks a veterinary neurologist to diagnose and manage a broad range of neurologic conditions in companion animals. Join a multi-specialty team with access to advanced diagnostics, including MRI, to develop comprehensive treatment plans.

Ideal candidates hold a DVM or equivalent, with Neurology board certification or residency training, and eligibility for state licensure.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a wide range of neurologic and neurosurgical conditions in companion animals.
• Perform and interpret advanced neurologic diagnostics and develop comprehensive treatment plans for complex cases.
• Collaborate with specialists, emergency clinicians, and support teams to provide coordinated care for urgent and complex neurologic patients.
• Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care.
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with referring veterinarians through clear communication and continuity of care.
• Contribute to the continued growth and development of neurology services at Virginia Veterinary Centers – Short Pump.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.

Full-Time opportunity in Richmond, Virginia

Compensation: $200,000 - $250,000 (prosal) with 25% production.

Join a collaborative, multi-specialty team and help advance neurology care for pets throughout Central Virginia. At Virginia Veterinary Centers – Short Pump, you’ll practice alongside experienced specialists and emergency clinicians in a state-of-the-art hospital designed to support advanced medicine, collaboration, and exceptional patient care.

Our specialty team includes Surgery, Neurology, Medical Oncology, Internal Medicine, Dentistry, Ophthalmology, Critical Care, and Emergency Medicine, creating an environment where collaboration across disciplines is part of everyday patient care.

The hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment technology, including a 1.5T MRI, LINAC, CT, C-arm, and CT cone-beam, giving you access to the tools needed to diagnose and manage complex neurologic cases. Our 24/7 Emergency and Critical Care team also provides seamless support for urgent and complicated patients.
