Job summary

IDEXX is seeking a Veterinary Laboratory Technician to join our Langhorne, PA laboratory. You will perform diagnostic tests on samples to support veterinarians in diagnosing and treating pets, using automated analyzers and microscopes, and releasing results per SOPs.

The role emphasizes teamwork, accuracy and adherence to safety protocols in a fast-paced environment with on-the-job training and potential career growth. Hours are Monday–Friday, 1pm–6pm, on-site in Langhorne, PA.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required; a 2-, 3- or 4-year degree in a Science-related field is preferred.
• If you were a Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, CVT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT or MT), this experience would be a plus.
• Ideally, you will have experience setting up, running, and reading lab tests, and operating laboratory equipment.
• You have a positive attitude and love to bring that energy into the lab each day to support colleagues.
• You are looking forward to working in a team and you can work reliably and precisely.
• You can meet the physical requirements of standing, lifting up to 50 lb, and other lab duties.
• There is potential exposure to biohazards and hazardous chemicals in this role.

Responsibilities

• Use automated analyzers, microscopes and other laboratory diagnostic tools to perform analyses and tests that diagnose animal illnesses.
• Perform diagnostic tests on blood, urine, fecal or biopsy samples received in the lab.
• Set up and run lab tests, then read and release results according to SOPs.
• Specialize in an assigned department and explore more about reference laboratories.
