Job summary

Petco Animal Supplies, Inc. is seeking a Hospital Operations Manager to lead our veterinary hospital operations, partner with veterinarians, and drive high-quality patient care and exceptional client service.

You will manage scheduling, inventory, invoicing, and staff development while partnering with store teams to ensure a seamless Petco experience. Minimum 2–3 years in veterinary practice or 2+ years in leadership, strong communication, and solid computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of veterinary practice experience, or 2+ years of leadership experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficient in basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead hospital paraprofessionals to drive operational excellence, patient care and client experience.
• Build productive relationships with veterinarians to foster a cohesive team.
• Manage day-to-day hospital operations including scheduling, equipment, inventory, invoicing, patient records and safety.
• Oversee hiring, training, and performance of paraprofessional staff.
• Schedule doctor and staff rosters at least two weeks out and maintain punctuality.
• Coordinate with Area/Regional Medical Director to optimize doctor schedules and payroll.
• Review monthly P&L and partner with Area Ops Manager to grow revenue and meet targets.
• Escalate issues to Area Ops Manager, Medical Director or HRBP as needed.
• Collaborate with store team to deliver seamless client experience across Petco locations.
• Provide client education, schedule appointments, relay test results, and manage hospital records and accounts receivable.
• Maintain OSHA standards and hospital cleanliness; uphold Petco policies.
