Cryan Veterinary is seeking a Veterinary Business Accountant to join our Westerville finance team. You will co-manage bookkeeping staff, own key processes, and strengthen our financial foundation across multi-state relief services and clinics. You’ll oversee QuickBooks, journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly/quarterly/annual reporting.

The role emphasizes process improvement, internal controls, and collaboration with upper management on projects, with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of accounting experience including mentoring staff.
• Expert-level QuickBooks proficiency.
• Advanced Excel skills with complex formulas and pivot tables.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and applying it in practice.
• Ability to work independently and own processes.
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking abilities.
• Ability to lead and coach bookkeeping staff.

Responsibilities

• Co-manage bookkeeping staff and own accounting processes.
• Oversee QuickBooks activities and journal entries preparation and review.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and financial statements.
• Support month-, quarter-, year-end closes and GL analyses.
• Prepare audit support for external financial statements as needed.
• Drive process improvements and automation initiatives.
• Document accounting policies and strengthen internal controls.
• Coach and develop bookkeeping team members and manage priorities.
