Job summary

Animal Outpatient Specialty Network (AOSN) is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to lead the monthly close, reconcile ledgers, and own fixed assets, lease accounting, payroll, and accruals across our veterinary specialty clinics.

You will prepare tax filings, assist with audits, improve processes, and ensure compliance with GAAP and ASC 606/842. The role requires strong MS Office skills and effective communication with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
• 3–5 years progressive accounting experience.
• Technical accounting skills such as ASC 606 Revenue Recognition and ASC 842 Lease accounting.
• Position may require occasional travel.
• High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Month-end close: Own assigned close tasks and prepare monthly financial statements.
• Balance sheet reconciliations including PTO, accrued purchases, and prepaid accounts.
• Maintain fixed asset register and related depreciation, transfers, and disposals.
• Administer ASC 842 lease accounting and lease entries.
• Prepare and post payroll entries and related benefit activity; reconcile payroll accruals.
• Prepare recurring and non-recurring accruals and related reversals.
• Prepare and file monthly/quarterly/annual tax filings and compliance.
• Audit support: assist with audits and resolve discrepancies.
• General ledger: post entries and maintain chart of accounts; review posting.
• Budgets and process improvement: assist with budgets and new procedures.
