Springbrook Animal Care Center offers an externship opportunity for veterinary students to gain practical experience in a supportive environment. Students will work closely with veterinarians, enhancing clinical skills and communication while participating in various aspects of veterinary practice. The externship lasts 2-8 weeks with stipend opportunities available.
An externship experience at an NVA hospital offers students a unique opportunity to understand the daily operations of veterinary practice and gain valuable hands-on clinical experience.
Although each NVA hospital is distinct, they share common qualities: a supportive environment, a commitment to excellent medicine, and a dedication to providing exceptional service to animals and their owners.

In addition to honing clinical skills, student externs will have opportunities to improve their communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Most externships last from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules. All veterinary students, regardless of class year, are encouraged to participate in NVA externships.
