National Veterinary Associates seeks veterinary externs at Hidden Valley Animal Hospital in Independence, MO. This position allows students to work closely with experienced veterinarians, gaining hands-on experience in a clinical setting. Externships last from two to eight weeks and provide a valuable opportunity to develop essential skills in a supportive environment.
Hidden Valley Animal Hospital is a four-doctor practice serving the Independence, MO area. We are a GP that offers Urgent Care appointments, along with boarding and grooming services, with five groomers.
Students will work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry, observing or assisting with surgical procedures, and medical management. They will also have opportunities to develop communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Externship durations typically range from two to eight weeks, depending on schedules. Externships are reserved for students in their final clinical year of veterinary school.
