A leading veterinary practice in Doylestown is offering externships for veterinary students to gain practical experience. Students will work alongside a supervising veterinarian, engaging in essential tasks like patient history gathering, exams, and treatment planning. This opportunity supports professional growth and enhances skills within a supportive environment.
Main Street Animal Hospital is a small animal practice in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, just outside Philadelphia. We have a typical caseload and wonderful clients who pursue diagnostics, providing fulfilling cases for our team.
Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry, observing or assisting in surgical procedures, and medical management. Additionally, externs will have opportunities to practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Externship durations range from two to eight weeks, depending on schedules. All veterinary students, regardless of class year, are encouraged to participate in NVA externships.
Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. View stipend amounts and details on the stipend program.
