Sanlando Springs Animal Hospital offers a comprehensive externship for final-year veterinary students, focusing on hands-on experience in patient care, diagnostics, and surgical assistance. At Sanlando Springs Animal Hospital, we focus on providing the highest quality veterinary care for our patients. We offer Wellness Plans and utilize state-of-the-art medical technology, including ultrasound, surgical CO2 laser, and therapeutic laser, enabling us to diagnose and treat challenging cases effectively.
Veterinary students in their final clinical year will work closely with supervising DVMs to gain hands-on experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry, assisting or performing surgical procedures, and managing patient care. This externship also offers opportunities to enhance communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Externship durations typically range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules.
