Lilley Veterinary Medical Center is offering a veterinary externship program for clinical phase veterinary students. Externs will gain valuable hands-on experience alongside experienced veterinarians, performing physical exams, assisting in surgeries, and developing treatment plans. The duration ranges from two to eight weeks, providing ample opportunity for learning and professional growth.
Lilley Veterinary Medical Center has been serving the community since 1975, with three experienced doctors, each with at least 16 years of practice. One of our veterinarians specializes in ultrasound and has completed multiple training sessions on the subject.
Students will work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gain hands-on experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, developing treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry, assisting or performing surgical procedures, and managing patient medical care. Additionally, externs will have opportunities to enhance their communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
The externship duration at Lilley Veterinary Medical Center typically ranges from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules. We encourage all veterinary students, regardless of their year, to participate in NVA externships.
Veterinary students in the clinical phase of their education may be eligible for a travel and living expense stipend. Click here to view stipend amounts and details on the stipend program.
