Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is seeking a Nursing Manager to lead our veterinary nursing team. You will empower, connect, and take pride in exceptional patient care, guiding staff with compassion, collaboration, and a deep investment in people.

Qualifications

• Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state of the VEG practice.
• A.S. or B.S. from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred.
• 5+ years in a clinical veterinary nursing role, emergency experience preferred; 2+ years of leadership.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Willing to work in a noisy environment with strong odors.
• Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with diverse personalities.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day flow for nursing team, ensuring tools and support to shine.
• Oversee scheduling, payroll, productivity, hiring, onboarding and offboarding.
• Address patient care issues and team dynamics with empathy and clarity.
• Partner with hospital leadership to align on goals and flow.
• Use doctor feedback to guide team development and medical excellence.
• Lead with VEG values – openness, togetherness, and heroic helping.
• Champion in-house learning, mentorship, and development pathways.
• Ensure licensure, performance standards, and education programs are upheld.
• Drive meaningful 1:1s, check-ins, and student mentorship for growth.
