Job summary

VEG ER for Pets in Maryland is seeking a Clinical Staff Manager to elevate our emergency care teams. You will lead and develop a high-performing support staff, align hospital operations, and partner with medical leadership to uphold VEG’s standards.

This role emphasizes people leadership, recruitment, onboarding, training, and process improvement. You’ll bridge departments, resolve conflicts, and foster a culture of inclusivity while ensuring exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a clinical veterinary technician role
• 2+ years of experience in a leadership role
• Must be enrolled in a Credentialing Support Program (CSP) and become a Credentialed Veterinary Technician within one year
• Willingness to work a rotating schedule including weekends/holidays
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with diverse teams

Responsibilities

• Directly oversee the support staff team and lead across hospital shifts
• Recruit, interview, hire and onboard new VEG Credentialed Technicians and Veterinary Assistants
• Educate staff through formal education plans and coaching
• Address staff concerns and resolve conflicts to maintain workflow
• Partner with Medical Director and leadership to align VEG-wide initiatives
• Develop and maintain schedules, leave processes and training programs
• Improve processes for efficiency and patient care
• Ensure inclusive and equitable treatment of all VEGgies and customers
