Job summary

The Whole Pet Vet Hospital & Wellness Center in Los Gatos, CA is seeking an experienced Doctor Assistant to support our DVM team and help keep patient care moving efficiently throughout the day. This role combines administrative coordination with hands-on veterinary assistant duties to streamline workflows and reduce the DVMs’ administrative burden.

You will coordinate client communications, help prioritize tasks, and provide patient education and home care instructions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant role.
• Strong knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care.
• Excellent communication with DVMs, clients, and the clinical team.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Comfortable providing client education and home care instructions.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing DVM schedules and prioritizing the day's workflow.
• Monitoring doctor task lists and outstanding patient needs.
• Coordinating client callbacks and communication with the veterinary team.
• Providing client education and home care instructions.
• Preparing same-day treatment estimates and supporting timely client communication.
• Auditing medical records for completion and accuracy.
• Coordinating communication between DVMs, CSRs, and the clinical team.
• Providing hands-on Veterinary Assistant support when needed.
