Job summary

The Whole Pet Vet Hospital & Wellness Center in Los Gatos, CA is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant with a focus on surgical and procedural support. You will prepare patients, assist during anesthesia and surgery, and maintain a clean surgical environment while delivering attentive care throughout the day.

Cross-training with Client Service Representative team and front-desk support are available, making this a versatile, team-oriented role in a fast-paced general practice.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a veterinary assistant.
• Fear Free Certification or willingness to become certified.
• Proficiency in anesthesia monitoring, dental procedures, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and sample collection.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surgical and procedure areas and equipment.
• Support veterinarians and technicians during surgeries, dental, and other procedures.
• Monitor anesthesia and assist with patient recovery.
• Maintain clean, sterile surgical instruments and safe treatment areas.
• Collaborate with veterinary and client service teams to keep areas stocked.
