Job summary

Hickory Veterinary & Specialty Hospital is seeking a Client Service Representative to connect our veterinary team with the pet families we serve. This back-office role focuses on communication, scheduling, records, and administrative tasks to support excellent patient care.

The CSR will handle calls, coordinate client needs, and work with hospital staff in a compassionate, customer-service oriented environment. Prior animal experience and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with animals is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable spending much of the day on the phone.
• Organized, dependable, and self-motivated.
• Compassionate and professional, especially during stressful situations.
• Able to work independently while being a collaborative team member.
• Customer service, veterinary, medical, or administrative experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle a high volume of phone calls and email correspondence with professionalism and compassion
• Serve as a liaison between pet owners and hospital staff
• Communicate information accurately and help coordinate client needs
• Assist with scheduling, records, and other administrative tasks
• Address questions and concerns and elevate issues when appropriate
• Manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
• Work independently while collaborating closely with the hospital team
