Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospitals is seeking a dedicated Pet Care Assistant to join the veterinary team. In this role, you will prepare treatment areas, assist during exams, and help with in-house labs while maintaining a cheerful, welcoming atmosphere for clients and their pets.

Your work supports compassionate care and efficient service. You will educate clients on preventive care, assist with treatments, and ensure hospital cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the treatment room and all supplies for examinations by veterinarians and staff.
• Set up and process fecals, smears, and skin scrapings per state rules.
• Educate clients on preventive care and wellness plans; support client services staff.
• Restrain or hold pets during examinations, treatments, or vaccines as needed.
• Prepare in-house lab tests within allowed regulations.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and maintain their comfort and care.
• Keep hospital clean, sterile, and organized per protocols.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
