Job summary

WellHaven Pet Health in Castle Pines, Colorado is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, educate clients, and help maintain the highest standards of care across exams, surgeries, dentistry, and laboratory procedures.

You will contribute to hospital efficiency, manage medical records, assist with reception duties, and engage with clients with empathy and clear communication in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent training preferred.
• 6+ months of experience in the veterinary industry.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in surgery, dentistry, laboratory procedures, and venipuncture while maintaining sterile environment.
• Contribute to the day-to-day efficiency and smooth operation of the hospital.
• Educate clients about wellness plans and pet care guidance.
• Handle reception duties: calls, scheduling, patient intake and discharge.
• Obtain medical history and patient information, document accurately.
• Assist with hospital supplies, inventory tracking and restocking.
• Ensure completion of duties before end of shift and advocate for hospital success.
