Job summary

WellHaven Pet Health is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, educate clients, and maintain high standards of care. The role is onsite at a WellHaven hospital and involves a fast-paced environment with exposure to pets and medical procedures.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 6+ months in veterinary care, and NAVTA training preferred. Onsite shifts may include weekends and holidays; competitive pay and benefits provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent (preferred).
• 6+ months of experience in the veterinary industry.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and technicians in daily medical and clinical tasks (surgery, dentistry, labs).
• Maintain accurate medical records and charting.
• Educate clients about wellness plans and pet care.
• Assist with reception duties: calls, scheduling, patient intake/discharge.
• Manage hospital supplies and inventory; restock as needed.
• Ensure completion of assigned duties before shift end.
