Job summary

Burnsville Animal Clinic, part of WellHaven Pet Health, is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, educate clients, and uphold the highest standards of veterinary care onsite.

You will assist with surgery, dentistry, lab work, venipuncture, and anesthesia support, maintain client records and Wellness Plan guidance, manage reception duties, and help with inventory in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 6+ months of experience in the veterinary industry.
• NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in a fast-paced hospital.
• Willingness to perform clinical and reception duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with surgery, dentistry, lab procedures, and venipuncture.
• Maintain thorough medical charts and educate clients on Wellness Plans.
• Handle reception duties: calls, scheduling, patient intake and discharge.
• Manage hospital supplies and inventory.
• Provide professional customer service to clients and team members.
