Job summary

WellHaven Pet Health in Burnsville, MN is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, educate clients, and maintain high standards of care. The role includes assisting in surgery, dentistry, labs, and venipuncture, plus front-desk duties and inventory management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 6 months of experience in the veterinary industry.
• Completion of a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with surgery, dentistry, laboratory procedures, venipuncture, and maintain a sterile environment.
• Contribute to day-to-day hospital operations and efficiency.
• Communicate effectively with team members and clients.
• Maintain accurate medical charts and documentation.
• Educate clients about Wellness Plans and pet care.
• Handle reception duties such as answering calls and scheduling appointments.
• Obtain medical history and patient information.
• Assist in managing hospital supplies and inventory.
