Job summary

WellHaven seeks a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, ensuring high standards of pet care and client education. You will assist with surgeries, dentistry, and lab work, and help manage patient intake and discharge.

Responsibilities include maintaining medical charts, scheduling, and supporting reception tasks, while educating clients on Wellness Plans and preventive care. The role requires hospital experience and NAVTA‑approved training or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Proficient in veterinary technical skills including anesthesia, surgical support and dentistry.
• Experience with charting medical records and client communication.
• NAVTA‑approved program or equivalent demonstrated knowledge and training.

Responsibilities

• Provide veterinary care support alongside veterinarians and technicians.
• Explain Wellness Plans and educate clients on pet care and health.
• Assist with reception tasks: phone, scheduling, patient intake and discharge.
• Maintain inventory and supply management for the hospital.
