Cascade Pet Hospital in Shoreline, WA is seeking a Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist for a hybrid, part-time role. This position blends hands-on patient care with front-desk duties, and requires the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced veterinary setting.

You will assist veterinarians during exams and procedures, collect histories, manage client communications, and help maintain smooth clinic operations while delivering compassionate care to pets and their families.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, surgery, and dental procedures.
• Obtain patient histories, vital signs, laboratory samples, and diagnostic imaging.
• Perform venipuncture, laboratory procedures, patient restraint, and nursing care.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and assist with treatments as directed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and communicate updates to the medical team.
• Cover the reception desk during lunch breaks and other staffing needs.
• Welcome clients, answer phones, schedule appointments, and assist with check-in and check-out.
• Provide exceptional client service while helping maintain an efficient hospital workflow.
• Participate in caring for our clinic cat, Crouton, during scheduled weekend, holiday, and clinic-closure shifts.

Most schedules include Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with either Tuesday or Thursday off. Weekend, holiday, and clinic-closure shifts are shared among all hourly team members.

Cascade Pet Hospital is searching for an experienced Veterinary Assistant who enjoys wearing multiple hats and thrives in a collaborative, team-focused environment.
