Job summary

Cascade Pet Hospital is hiring for a Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist in a hybrid, part-time role. Salary ranges from $20.00 to $23.00 per hour, based on experience.

Qualifications

  • One year of in-clinic experience as a Veterinary Assistant is required.
  • Strong technical and patient-care skills are essential.
  • Excellent communication and customer-service abilities are expected.
  • Comfortable learning reception responsibilities and supporting the team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, surgery, and dental procedures.
  • Obtain patient histories, vital signs, laboratory samples, and diagnostic imaging.
  • Perform venipuncture, laboratory procedures, patient restraint, and nursing care.
  • Monitor hospitalized patients and assist with treatments as directed.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and communicate updates to the medical team.
  • Cover the reception desk during lunch breaks and other staffing needs.
  • Welcome clients, answer phones, schedule appointments, and assist with check-in/check-out.
  • Provide exceptional client service while helping maintain an efficient hospital workflow.
  • Participate in caring for our clinic cat, Crouton, during weekend/holiday shifts.

Position Details

Role: Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist (Hybrid)

Status: Part-time

Salary: $20.00–$23.00 per hour, based on experience

Schedule: Flexible schedule based on hospital needs. Most schedules include Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with either Tuesday or Thursday off. Weekend, holiday, and clinic-closure shifts are shared among all hourly team members.

Cascade Pet Hospital is searching for an experienced Veterinary Assistant who enjoys wearing multiple hats and thrives in a collaborative, team-focused environment. This hybrid role combines hands-on veterinary assistant responsibilities with reception coverage, making it a great fit for someone who enjoys both patient care and client interaction.
