Job summary

Cascade Pet Hospital in Shoreline, WA is hiring a Veterinary Assistant who also covers reception duties in a hybrid role. This part-time position balances patient care with client interactions and offers flexible scheduling based on hospital needs.

You will assist veterinarians, obtain histories, perform basic procedures, maintain records, and support front desk tasks. Prior in-clinic experience is required, and training for reception is provided if needed.

  • At least one year of in-clinic experience as a Veterinary Assistant (required)

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, surgery, and dental procedures
  • Obtain patient histories, vital signs, laboratory samples, and diagnostic imaging
  • Perform venipuncture, laboratory procedures, patient restraint, and nursing care
  • Monitor hospitalized patients and assist with treatments as directed
  • Maintain accurate patient records and communicate updates to the medical team
  • Cover the reception desk during lunch breaks and other staffing needs
  • Welcome clients, answer phones, schedule appointments, and assist with check-in and check-out
  • Provide exceptional client service while helping maintain an efficient hospital workflow
  • Participate in caring for our clinic cat, Crouton, during scheduled weekend, holiday, and clinic-closure shifts

Position Details

  • Role: Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist (Hybrid)
  • Status: Part-time
  • Salary: $20.00–$23.00 per hour, based on experience
  • Schedule: Flexible schedule based on hospital needs. Most schedules include Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with either Tuesday or Thursday off. Weekend, holiday, and clinic-closure shifts are shared among all hourly team members.

Cascade Pet Hospital is searching for an experienced Veterinary Assistant who enjoys wearing multiple hats and thrives in a collaborative, team-focused environment.
