Crossroads Animal Emergency & Referral Center (Norwalk) is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team. You will provide end-to-end care for patients, facilitate outpatient treatments, perform lab tests, and support admissions and discharges.

The role involves liaising between doctors, clients, and patients, organizing diagnostics, coordinating treatment, and communicating updates, with opportunities to grow through Thrive Pet Healthcare resources.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 years of veterinary experience.
• Flexible schedule availability.
• Basic knowledge of veterinary medicine and terminology.
• Ability to communicate calmly, clearly, and effectively with both staff and clients.
• Strong verbal and written skills.
• Strong attention to detail and follow through.
• Excellent customer service skills and a desire to provide outstanding service to clients.
• Ability to handle high stress situations.

Responsibilities

• Serve the liaison between doctors, clients, and patients.
• Organize and track patient diagnostics.
• Coordinate hospitalized patient treatment.
• Prepare patient discharge reports and in-hospital updates.
• Communicate with clients, referring DVMs, and pharmacies about appointments, medical concerns, updates, referrals, and prescriptions.
• Assist veterinary staff with animal restraint, radiography, and lab equipment.
