Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist Veterinarians and Technicians in patient care
• Collect lab samples and run in-house tests or prep for shipment
• Float and help in various areas of the hospital to maintain schedule and patient care
• Help answer phones and fill prescriptions
• Maintain cleanliness of exam rooms and treatment areas
• Educate clients on preventative care and perform phone triage
• Provide compassionate patient care

Job description

Applicants must have a strong work ethic and be able to multi-task effectively in a fast paced environment. This person should be able to communicate effectively and working in harmony with the rest of the teams while maintaining a positive attitude. A strong technical ability as well as passion for patient and client care are also important.

General Duties:

• Assist Veterinarians and Technicians in patient care including animal restraint and treatment
• Collect lab samples and run on in-house machines or prepare for shipment to reference lab
• Float and help out in various areas of the hospital to maintain schedule and patient care
• Help answer phones and fill prescriptions
• Maintain cleanliness of exam rooms and treatment areas
• Communicate with clients in order to educate on preventative care and do phone triage
• Provide compassionate patient care

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experienced is preferred but we are willing to train and mentor the right person
• General knowledge in animal behavior
• Ability to do basic math
• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with clients and other employees
• Ability to stand and walk for the entirety of shift.
• Ability to lift 25+ lbs. on a regular basis.
