Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Los Angeles seeks a Housing Management Assistant to connect Veterans in HUD-VASH with permanent housing. You will build relationships with landlords, agencies, and VA staff to coordinate housing solutions and facilitate lease-ups.

You will assist Veterans with housing searches, document gathering for deposits, and educate on available funding resources. This on-site role runs Monday–Friday 8:00 am–4:30 pm with standard federal benefits.

Qualifications

• Time-In-Grade requirements apply for federal positions.
• Education can substitute for experience: 4-year course post high school.
• Combination of education and specialized experience may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Link Veterans in HUD-VASH to permanent housing.
• Establish and maintain relationships with landlords, agencies serving the homeless, VA staff.
• Assist Veterans with housing search and lease up, liaising with VA, PHA, landlord, and Veteran.
• Identify and contact local landlords; maintain a database of landlords accepting subsidies.
• Gather documents for security deposits and educate Veterans on funding resources.
• Use Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) for transportation as needed.
• Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm.
