Job summary

Step Up’s HUD-VASH team is seeking Masters-level clinicians, case managers, and housing specialists to engage Veterans experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles. The program blends HCV rental assistance with VA-provided services and emphasizes housing stability, wrap-around support, and trauma-informed care.

Responsibilities include direct clinical case management, housing navigation assistance, life skills education, and coordination with VA facilities and community partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences or related field required; master’s degree preferred.
• Experience in case management with high-need populations.
• Understanding of VA processes and housing programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical case management to Veterans experiencing homelessness.
• Assist Veterans with navigating the Housing Authority voucher process and obtain permanent housing.
• Educate Veterans on community living, money management, shopping, safety, and basic life skills.
• Refer to VA medical facilities, regional offices, and community agencies for health care, benefits, vocational aid, and education.
• Provide crisis management services.
