Job summary

Tennessee State Veterans’ Homes is seeking a dedicated Laundry Aide for our Humboldt, Tennessee facility. The role supports resident care by maintaining clean, sanitary laundry services for the skilled nursing environment. Shifts run 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM or 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM.

As part of a caring team, you will operate laundry equipment, sort items, manage supplies, and ensure safety and hygiene standards are met. Prior housekeeping or healthcare laundry experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare laundry/ cleaning preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and reschedule cleaning activities to meet residents or staff needs.
  • Must read and understand Standard English and handle standard cleaning chemicals.

Responsibilities

  • Sort and separate laundry items according to color, fabric type, and care instructions.
  • Operate and maintain laundry equipment such as washing machines and dryers.
  • Load and unload laundry machines with proper weights and settings.
  • Use appropriate cleaning agents and laundry products to remove stains and odors.
  • Check and treat items for stains and damages before laundering.
  • Inspect and fold cleaned laundry items and store properly.
  • Maintain inventory of laundry supplies and inform supervisor when needed.
  • Assist with delivery of clean laundry to appropriate areas or individuals.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain cleanliness in the laundry area.
  • Collaborate with team members for efficient workflow and excellent service.

We are currently hiring a full-time Laundry Aide for our 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM or 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM shift at our skilled nursing facility for veterans in Humboldt, Tennessee.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Previous housekeeping/ cleaning/ laundry aide experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Individual must be able to work independently and reschedule cleaning activities to meet the needs of residents or nursing staff. Individual must be able to deal tactfully and effectively with residents, families, visitors and co-workers. Must be able to read and understand Standard English and be able to work with standard cleaning chemicals.
