Job summary

The Tennessee State Veterans' Homes Board is seeking a dedicated Environmental Services/Laundry position to maintain clean and sanitary resident areas in a respectful environment.

Responsibilities include cleaning rooms, following safety procedures, and supporting laundry tasks as needed; flexibility to work first shift and additional shifts as required. This role contributes to a high-quality living environment for veterans served by TSVH.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in healthcare environmental services preferred.
  • Must be able to positively interact with other staff, residents and families.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure facility rooms are cleaned in the proper manner.
  • Follow established safety procedures when performing housekeeping duties.
  • Clean, polish furnishings, fixtures, and room surfaces daily as instructed.
  • Sanitize bathroom fixtures and remove water marks from fixtures.
  • Clean windows, mirrors, walls and ceilings as needed.
  • Vacuum, mop and maintain clean floors; use caution signs before wet cleaning.
  • Assist in other housekeeping duties and in the laundry as needed.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Reports To: Environmental Services /Laundry Manager

Shift: First shift. Must have flexibility to work other shifts as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that the rooms within the facility are cleaned in the proper manner.
  • Follow all established safety procedures and precautions when performing housekeeping services.
  • Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc., in resident rooms, recreational areas, etc., daily as instructed.
  • Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures. Ensure that water marks are removed from fixtures.
  • Clean windows/mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit ways.
  • Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing, etc
  • Clean floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, etc. (NOTE: Ensure that appropriate caution/safety signs are properly set up prior to performing such duties.)
  • Assists in other housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Assists in the laundry, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
