Job summary

The Veterans Canteen Service (VCS) is seeking an experienced Health Tech (Optician) to support Optical Shops at the Monterey - San Jose - Livermore CA VA Medical Center. This position coordinates optical operations and serves as a liaison between VCS eye clinic providers and prosthetics teams to enhance veteran eyewear service.

You will greet customers, assist with frame selection, perform eyewear fittings and measurements, document patient data in CPRS, and process orders while coordinating

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of optician experience required.
• Ability to work independently with high patient service standards.
• Experience with optical equipment and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with frame selection and pricing.
• Perform eyewear fittings and take precise measurements.
• Document patient data in CPRS.
• Process eyewear orders and enter into VA systems.
• Collaborate with eye clinics, labs, and prosthetics staff to track orders.
• Maintain clean, organized eyewear displays.
• Support pricing, merchandise control, and inventory protection.
