Job summary

Veterans Canteen Service (VCS) is seeking an experienced Health Tech (Opticians) to support operations in the Salem VA Optical Shops. This role coordinates optical operations and serves as a liaison between VCS, eye clinic providers and prosthetics teams to enhance veterans’ experience.

Requirements include at least 1 year as an Optician and demonstrated ability to work independently while upholding high patient-service standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience working as an Optician.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of patient service.
• Ability to identify prescription discrepancies and resolve issues for patient satisfaction.
• Skilled in optical verification, alignment and frame selection.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate optical operations and liaise between VCS, eye clinic providers and prosthetics teams.
• Deliver exceptional service and support within VCS Optical Shops at Salem VA Medical Center.
• Ensure accuracy in prescriptions, transitions verification and frame alignment.
• Utilize instruments and tools for patient-focused optical care.
