Joint Technology Solution, Inc. is seeking a counselor to help military personnel and their families find employment and education to obtain work.

You will interview employers, assess needs, and guide clients through job searches, resumes, and applications, with a focus on veterans, dependents, and transitioning service members. You will build relationships with employers, present programs, refer clients to workshops, and coordinate educational paths.

Formación

• One year of experience in job placement or employment services.
• Three years’ experience leading, training, or mentoring service members, or two years in related experience.

Responsabilidades

• Interviews employers to obtain detailed information about recruitment needs.
• Explains criteria and program requirements to individuals or groups of business owners, job seekers, or clients.
• Identifies barriers to job search and possible solutions.
• Determines transferable skills, interests, and employment goals.
• Orients, coaches, or trains job seekers in job search activities and processes.
• Inputs, retrieves, and analyzes information from online databases.
• Contacts clients for clarifying or missing information.
• Contacts employers to develop job opportunities for clients.
• Reviews applications for occupational information and accuracy; interviews and collects details from job seekers.
• Refers clients to job finding workshops or resources within the state or community.
• Explains eligibility and assists clients with obtaining a quality job within qualifications.
• Explains general eligibility requirements for other programs and educational avenues.
• Identifies training problems and assists with a detailed training plan.
• Evaluates applicants for special programs.
• Provides guidance on resume writing and job search.
• Educates clients on on‑the‑job or apprenticeship training.
