Job summary

Omega Health seeks a compassionate Vocational Counselor to support veterans and individuals with disabilities in pursuing meaningful employment. You will provide career counseling, planning, and employment support while helping clients identify strengths, goals, and skills for workplace success.

Responsibilities include resume and job application assistance, interview prep, job readiness, and ongoing coaching.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent organization and time management.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently in a community-based setting.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with current insurance.
• Willingness to travel throughout the service area.
• Ability to successfully complete required background screenings.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized career counseling, planning, and employment support.
• Help individuals identify their strengths, interests, skills, and career goals.
• Assist with resumes, applications, interviews, job readiness, and workplace skills.
• Develop employment opportunities through job development and employer outreach.
• Provide job coaching, onboarding support, and follow-up to promote job retention.
• Build strong relationships with employers, families, referral partners, and community organizations.
• Maintain accurate case notes, service records, and documentation.
• Manage an assigned caseload while meeting service and documentation deadlines.
• Work independently throughout the surrounding communities.
