Job summary
Loyal Source is seeking an Examiner Nurse Practitioner to conduct Compensation & Pension disability examinations for Veterans applying for benefits through the VA. This is not a treatment role and does not include prescribing or ongoing patient management.
The position is based in Hampton, VA with about 10% travel. Pay rate ranges from $140,961.60 to $170,961.60 annually, with a Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a professional nursing program accredited by an institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
- Active, valid, and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license.
- Minimum of one year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with renewals.
- Strong documentation, communication, and time management skills.
Responsibilities
- Conduct C&P disability examinations for Veterans in accordance with VA program requirements.
- Review medical records, diagnostic testing, and supporting documentation during examinations.
- Perform focused physical assessments related to claimed conditions.
- Prepare objective, evidence-based medical opinions and complete required documentation accurately.
- Use proprietary examination and case management systems to organize workload and submit findings.
- Work with the Quality Assurance team to ensure timely, complete reports.
