Job summary

DirectShifts is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to conduct VA Compensation & Pension General Medicine examinations, review medical histories, and complete DBQs in accordance with VA guidelines. You will perform comprehensive assessments and document findings to support timely, accurate reports.

The role requires an active NP/PA license, a collaborative agreement where required, and the ability to work independently within established clinical protocols.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted NP or PA license.
• Collaborative agreement with supervising physician as required by state law.
• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while following clinical protocols.

Responsibilities

• Conduct VA C&P General Medicine examinations.
• Review Veterans' medical history and supporting documentation prior to evaluations.
• Perform comprehensive physical assessments.
• Complete Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) accurately.
• Prepare timely, objective, and detailed medical reports.
• Ensure compliance with VA guidelines, HIPAA, and state/federal regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to complete evaluations on time.
