Job summary

DirectShifts seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to conduct VA General Medicine examinations and complete DBQs in line with VA guidelines. You will review histories, perform comprehensive assessments, and document findings to support disability evaluations.

The role requires an active NP/PA license, a supervising physician collaboration where required, and strong documentation and communication skills. Flexible scheduling options and compliant, patient-centered care are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted NP or PA license.
• Collaborative agreement with supervising physician where required by state law.
• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while following clinical protocols.

Responsibilities

• Review Veterans' medical history and supporting documentation prior to each evaluation.
• Perform comprehensive General Medicine examinations and physical assessments.
• Complete VA Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) accurately.
• Prepare timely, objective, and detailed medical reports.
• Ensure compliance with VA guidelines, HIPAA, and state/federal regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to complete evaluations on time.
