Allsup, LLC is seeking a Claims Consultant - Veterans Disability Appeals to review and address complex VA claims, including medical evidence and legal considerations. You will mentor staff, draft statements, and manage medical development with minimal supervision.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, plus 2+ years of veterans' disability claims experience and strong communication. A flexible work setup and comprehensive benefits accompany this position.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Must have strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to learn and apply technical instructions.
• Minimum of two years of Veteran's disability claims handling responsibilities and experience.
• Professional oral/telephone communication skills.
• Superior organizational skills.
• High level of initiative.
• Excellent knowledge of Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review and address technical, medical and viability issues on VA claims at all levels.
• Review VA claims file and medical evidence, resolve complex issues, and share knowledge with peers.
• Instruct, mentor, and train peers and support staff with minimal supervision.
• Prepare summaries of the veteran’s claims file including past VA decisions and medical evidence.
• Solicit medical records and select appropriate disability questionnaires for providers.
• Draft lay statements, independent medical opinion requests, and case summaries.
• Maintain detailed system notes and keep VA program knowledge current.
• Contribute to training sessions and special projects while maintaining confidentiality.
