Job summary

Allsup LLC is seeking a VA Claims Consultant to review veteran claims files, medical evidence, and VA decisions, and to draft briefs and summaries for claims at all levels of the process.

You will mentor peers, train support staff, and maintain strict confidentiality while handling sensitive claimant information. A Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of veterans' disability claims experience are required.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to learn technical instructions.
• Minimum of two years of Veteran's disability claims handling responsibilities and experience.
• Professional oral/telephone communication skills.
• Superior organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and prepare a summary of the veteran’s claims file, including VA decisions and medical evidence.
• Review medical records and determine which records to solicit from providers.
• Assist claimants with drafting lay statements and medical opinion requests.
• Review briefs written by claims agents and provide proofreading and research as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of claimant information and assist with training peers.
