Job summary

Allsup LLC is seeking a Claims Consultant for Veterans Disability Appeals to review and address technical, medical and viability issues across the VA claims process. The role involves mentoring peers, coordinating medical records, and drafting supporting materials to advance claim outcomes.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree and at least two years’ veteran’s disability claims experience, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Two years of Veteran's disability claims handling experience.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare summaries of the veteran’s claims file and analyze medical evidence.
• Solicit medical records and coordinate disability questionnaires.
• Assist claimants with lay statements and prepare case summaries for medical consultants.
• Proofread briefs and perform necessary research.
• Review cases for technical problems and medical eligibility.
• Maintain confidentiality and document system notes of actions.
• Participate in training sessions and support peers.
• Handle special projects as assigned.
