Job summary

Allsup LLC is seeking a VA Claims Consultant to review and resolve complex veteran disability cases at all levels of the VA process. You will examine claims files, medical evidence, and VA regulations, and you will mentor peers while maintaining strict confidentiality.

The role requires strong communication skills, a bachelor's degree or equivalent, and at least two years of veterans disability claims experience. The position offers flexible work options with opportunities to work from home.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of two years of Veteran's disability claims handling responsibilities and experience.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Professional oral/telephone communication skills.
• Superior organizational skills.
• High level of initiative.
• Excellent knowledge of Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review and prepare a summary of the veteran’s claims file including past and present VA decisions, analyze medical evidence and VA regulations to identify errors of law.
• Review medical records and claim files to determine which medical records to solicit and which disability questionnaires to request from providers.
• Assist claimants with drafting lay statements and independent medical opinion letters for medical consultants.
• Review briefs prepared by claims agents, providing proofreading and research as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of claimant information and all sensitive processes and data.
• Mentor peers and support staff; train colleagues on case development and VA procedures.
• Handle claims tasks and special projects with accuracy and timeliness.
