Job summary

Del Mar College is seeking a detail-oriented staff member to support the Veterans Center by providing information and guidance on VA education benefits, eligibility, and educational objectives. The role involves staffing the Veterans Center and delivering courteous service to students, faculty, and staff.

You will assist with benefits data systems, help students navigate applications, gather required documents (e.g., DD214, Certificate of Eligibility), and participate in registration periods

Qualifications

• One year of advanced study or training past the high school diploma or GED equivalency.
• Six months of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Staff the Veterans Center and answer the phone, providing information on program activities and referring callers as appropriate.
• Assist students with VA education benefits data systems and with computer applications to access benefits and required documents.
• Help students apply for a wide variety of VA programs.
• Assist veterans in resolving issues, including obtaining documents for benefits applications (e.g., Certificate of Eligibility, DD214s).
• Participate in registration periods at College campuses, centers, and outreach events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
