Job summary

Veterans Benefits Administration seeks a Legal Administrative Specialist (Contact Representation) to join the public Contact Team in the Veteran Service Center. The role provides information and assistance on VA benefits to Veterans, their dependents, and beneficiaries, addressing eligibility and entitlements with clarity and professionalism.

The incumbent will conduct interviews, explain benefits, and assist with claims appeals while maintaining strong, positive relationships with the public

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience at GS-05 or higher.
• Knowledge of Federal laws, regulations and VA benefits.
• Ability to listen and communicate verbally with people in person or by phone.
• Ability to communicate in writing.
• Ability to work independently and organize work activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and comprehensive assistance on VA benefits to Veterans, dependents, and beneficiaries.
• Advise on entitlements and eligibility.
• Explain benefits, conduct interviews, and assist with claims appeals.
• Present information clearly to the public and maintain positive relationships with VA.
