Florida Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a State Veterans' Service Officer to interview veterans, prepare and submit federal and state benefit claims, and advocate for clients within the VA system and community partners.

The incumbent will work with the Bureau of Field Services, Miami VAMC, and may participate in hearings, training, and outreach events to support veterans across Florida.

Formación

• Must have served as a member of the Armed Forces of the United States and separated under honorable conditions.
• DD-214, Member Copy #4, must accompany the application.
• Ability to deal professionally with diverse individuals; strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organizational abilities.
• Valid Florida driver's license; willingness to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Preference for 3+ years as a State Veterans Service Officer or similar role; MS Office and internet research proficiency.

Responsabilidades

• Interview veterans and family members; prepare and submit claims for benefits to VA.
• Advocate for veterans; provide information on state and federal benefits.
• Respond to inquiries; complete forms; input client data into Department systems.
• Coordinate with VA staff, clinics, and community partners; attend events as needed.
• Assist accredited organizations in obtaining required information for claims; represent at hearings as needed.
