Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. veteran with an honorable discharge (DD-214 required).
  • Valid Florida driver's license.
  • Ability to interact professionally with diverse individuals at all times.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

  • Interview veterans and family members; prepare and submit claims for federal/state benefits.
  • Advocate for veterans; assist with appeals and hearings; use VA data systems.
  • Review VA laws and regulations; respond to inquiries; process mail and documents.
  • Represent FDVA at events; provide briefings on state/federal benefits; liaise with VA centers.
  • Assist in preparing forms and financial data for admissions to state nursing homes; verify eligibility.
  • Visit National Guard units; maintain contact with bases and reserve units; provide on-site assistance.
  • Attend conferences and seminars; may serve as instructor or speaker; perform other duties as assigned.
