Job summary

Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP) offers veterans a structured pathway to become Kia Certified Service Technicians. The program partners with Kia Retailers and supports full-time employment while progressing through a competency-based GI Bill-approved apprenticeship leading to Kia Service Technician certification.

Participants gain access to required tools, equipment, vehicles, and training, with the potential for GI Bill Monthly Housing Allowance during the apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Honorable Discharge required.
• Valid driver's license from any state with a clean record.
• Experience in a technical / mechanical field is required.
• Willingness to complete and pass drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical components.
• Complete repair orders and warranty requests according to Kia and retailer policies.
• Test drive vehicles and diagnose using Kia diagnostic strategies, equipment, and tools.
• Perform services and repairs promptly while communicating with the shop foreman and service advisor to ensure a great customer experience.
