Job summary

Adult & Child in Indianapolis, IN invites a program manager to develop and lead a Veteran Program, aligning its focus with mission and vision while expanding services for veterans.

You will build community resources, supervise projects across eighteen counties, and collaborate with VA services to improve care. A bachelor’s degree and hands-on veteran-service experience are required, with strong communication and advocacy skills.

Qualifications

• Direct experience with military culture.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
• Experience delivering services to individuals with mental illness, substance abuse, or developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and align the Veteran Program’s focus, mission, vision, and objectives.
• Establish community resources for veterans, including employment, education, support systems.
• Lead collaborative community projects enhancing veteran quality of life.
• Negotiate contracts terms with fiscal departments for pre-approved programs.
• Represent the organization to attract military and financial support.
• Advocate and educate communities to enhance veteran services.
• Collaborate with Veteran Administration services and community resources.
• Organize pro-social activities and engage veterans in the community.
• Assist individuals in accessing rehabilitative, entitlement, medical, legal, and wellness services.
• Remain current on laws and regulations influencing veteran care.
